Cutting out things like alcohol, cigarettes and drugs are also important, and not only for you, but also for your partner. If you are on prescription drugs, make sure to mention to your Dr. that you are trying to get pregnant, just in case he or she wants to recommend anything else. Try to limit stress. It is easier said than done, but if you know that going to certain places or speaking to certain people stresses you out, try and avoid them if at all possible. If not, start practicing relaxation techniques, like yoga, or simple deep breathing with your eyes closed for a minute or two.

Try and get your self at an ideal weight and blood pressure level. If you have never worked out before you can start slow by walking, or doing yoga, and work yourself up to jogging and weight training. You can keep working out through out your pregnancy. There are many benefits to doing so.
