You could contact the midwife association via their website: http://www.canadianmidwives.org/new_brunswick.htm but to use a midwife in NB, it would have to be a home birth and they are not legally covered to practice in hospital and we don't have birthing centers. You'd also have to pay for them out of pocket as they are not yet recognized or covered under medicare here.
Hi There I know someone you can contact, but I only have her work #. Her name is Lori Gilford @ 454-5433. She gave me massages while pregnant, but she was just getting into mid-wife. Hope this helps, regards Michelle
Midwives are not sanctioned under New Brunswick law. Home births do happen, but you would not be covered if anything did happen.
Doulas are a great option when looking for an extra support person for labour, but sometimes their involvement can make your partner feel left out of the birthing expereince.
I am also a doula who services the Fredericton & Woodstock area. You can check out my page for more info www.doulaemilie.webs.com or e-mail me at er_patterson@yahoo.ca

I don't know any midwives but Lori at Active Massage Therapy is a doula too! I had her for my prenatal massages and she is great!

I used Natalie Mallet as my doula and I loved her, she is fantastic!

How much did it cost to hire Natalie as a doula?
