Rural Area Child Care

I am interested in knowing how single mother nurses are finding childcare for their under twos???? I have no family and live in a rural area so child care is difficult on a good day, but now I have to add in the evening and night shifts.... child care is impossible! I need to go back to work, but can't find childcare, what are you girls doing?

Have you tried posting ads at your local stores, etc. to see who in the area does child care already? Always ask for references and dont be afraid to check them out too! You should be able to ask what you like, they are your kids!!

you might end up having to have a couple different child care providers, like you could have a teenager at certain hours and a middle aged person for late nights or all nights. Im sure you can make it work but you will have to do some searching and asking around your area.

check kiiji , there's always lots of childcare providers, and like someone else said use 2 or 3 different people , then you'll always be covered , (1 for nights , 1 for days , etc)

Is there any way you can not do night shifts? Maybe a day/evening position? I can't imagine finding childcare for night shifts. What a night mare! Good luck! I'm sure it's possible. Do you have access to PULSE or MOX where you work? You could always put an ad out there.
