Fredericton Events & Activities

If you have any events to add including open playgroups contact jesikalyn@hotmail.com See Calendar

If you want to go to any of the events shown here, post it in the comments section and someone might be thinking the same thing while they look for things to do. And it would really help other moms if you could comment on what you went to and what you thought of the program. Because everyone knows, moms don't have time to waste.

Candace and I attended the Family drop in at the library, it was cute. Austin just wanted to run around the library... But I didn't have him right in the group, we arrived late so were kind of at the back... I would do it again though. Might like to try the one directed at babies next time instead. If you have a toddler or preschooler they would enjoy this program, a snack is served at the end of the 'show'.

I've been to the Reel Babies twice. It's great. They have 2 change tables, a microwave, bottle warmer, swing, a couple bouncy seats, a little exersaucer and a couple play mats I think. If anyone ever wants to go, let me know!

I just wanted to let you all know that Sara and I signed up for the swim lessons for babies under 1 year last year at the Nassis pool. I didn't find that I learned overly much but it was good in that, I had signed up and payed for it so I had to attend. I find the hardest part if just getting out and doing something, but when you are part of a program you just go. Anyway, it was nice because I had a friend to go with, but many of the girls were friendly and Austin LOVED it!!!! Most of the time was spent in the hot tub and the temperature was adjusted to accommodate babies. If you're worried about getting into a bathing suit, don't be just cover up, lots of the girls wore a tank top and a pair of shorts over their bathing suits. If anyone wants to attend the mom and tot swim (not the lessons) reply on here and we will see if we can get a bunch of girls together.

Big Comfy Couch is coming to the playhouse on April 12th @ 7:00pm tickets are 20.00 but I am told that if you are planning on holding your child on your lap then you only need to purchase one ticket. Should be a good time!!

I took Cole to the Family Resource Center a couple of times and in all honesty, I wasn't overly impressed. In my opinion they have too many programs and it leaves very little chance for moms to interact because you're paying too much attention during the programs. That, and the programs are more geared towards children over 3 leaving very little for us with smaller kids to enjoy. I thought I'd take in the drop in and that was pretty good...although they only host it like once or twice a month at most. I think it'd be great if they could have more drop in time for moms and babies to just hang out and more programs for moms with smaller kids. I went to the resource center in Sussex with a friend of mine and it's mostly drop in and it was much nicer. More relaxed atmosphere and the kids could just play while the moms chatted.

Hi! I was wondering about reelbabies at the theatre? How old is to old for your children? Is it fun? I am very interested in attending! Thank you!

I absolutly loved the reel babies movies when my daughter was first born. I believe its only for children under 1 year, however, I dont believe that they would turn anyone older away. I just wish that once and a while the vote would sway for a child type movie so that we could bring our toddlers.

I just wanted to comment on the Fredericton Resource Center. It's such a great place for moms and their babes!!! My son did the Ready for School program the year before kindergarten started, and it was really great to get him into something organized like that.

It's a great place for SAHM's who are looking for things to do with their kids during the day!!

Hi Amy, I have yet to attend anything at the FRC but I like how they ALWAYS have something going on. Have you been to anything at the library? Or any of the Family/ mom & tot swims at the naasis pool?

I would like to catch up with someone and go to something, just have no idea what. Dustin and I go to family swim on thursday and tuesday sometimes.

Robyn!!! I have practically begging someone to come to the pool with me, hahahha Aust just loves it, Daniel works all day and I could probably only manage to get one baby in and out of the car at the pool, let alone in the pool (safely). So, if you want to go on the weekend, let me know! We'll make plans and anyone who wants to meet up is more than welcome :)

Who wants to meet up for a Jog some night after 8 at the north side sports complex? If there are no joggers in the house, how about fast walking? It's free to get in too. This would be kid free BTW

I take Isabelle to the music program at the resource center on Wed. mornings @ 10am. It's a great program and all ages of children enjoy music. Right now children aged newborn to 31/2 attend. Belle loves to dance and play the instruments, and it's free. If anyones interrested, email me ash_josh@rogers.com .

Do you have to register for this?

No, it's drop-in. The program starts @10am, but we go early to socialize, then after music, the kids get a snack and more time to socialize. Oh, tomorrow @10am there's a drop-in there that we're going to, if anyone is interrested :)
