Birth Control

Just wondering what everyone uses for birth control and how do you like it?

we use the pull out method. I always felt sick when on the pill, and condoms seem to irritate me. I am not big on needles either, so never considered that an option.

thats what we do too :)

You people who pull out are brave! I'd be too afraid of getting pregnant all the time to do that!

We just use condoms and never had a problem.

I think it's pretty safe as long as you do be careful. It seems to be the most "hygienic" too

I am thinking about the IUD, anyone done that?

ive had friends use iud's and it seems pretty good.. dr's have said it doesn't affect your fertility like the shot. my cousin also uses the patch but theres been so much in the news about that i dont think iw ould try it.

the needle affects fertility? the patch is not recomended now? i think those pills that make you skip your period are not good for you. that is just not natural lol..

Nothing about birth control is "natural"...but there has been a lot of hype lately about certain types. Depo provera in particular...it's on the verge of being taken off the market because of the incidence of early onset osteoporosis in younger women because it progesterone only birth control inhibits your body from absorbing calcium and the age where most women are using this method of birth control is during the bone formative years and it's really hindering bone density formation.

and there were people taking depo who went off to have babies and it even says taht it can take up to five years to be able to conceive sometimes after being on it for a long period. theres been a lot about the patch too. But, really what do people expect its just new and not enough research was done on the results for either but they seem like new good ideas and everyone runs out to get them.

I know none of it is natural, but what I mean by that is, it is also in my opinion not very good for you.

I just realized I didnt answer the question before...we use condoms... I don't really like them, but until there is a better alternative I will probably keep using them until I hit menopause. lol

well, i've been on the pill, the patch , and the needle and had no problems with any of them except i gained alot of weight with the needle (but had no periods so it was a trade off lol). after this pregnancy i'll most likely get the mirena iud put in because we're not wanting to have another child for awhile at least ..and i definitely need something i don't have to think about when taking care of 2 under 2 lol

Having sex with 2 kids under the age of 2 (well under 2 and a half I guess) is the last thing on my mind! My kids are birth control themselves haha!

I hate the pill because I always forgot it (luckily never got pregnant on it though)
I was on depo for a year and would never do that again, the side effects were way too much. I got pregnant about 2 years after stopping it (didnt try to conceive in that time though)
I hate condoms
Im too much of a chicken for the "pull and pray" method lol
I had an iud after my son, really liked it, never had to worry about it and had absolutely no symptoms, I got pregnant 2 weeks after getting it removed so it did not affect my fertility, it actually didnt even disturb my cycle when I had it taken out!

Hey - check out Ladycomp.com it's a device I use to take my temperature every morning. It keeps track and gives me a color for the day - red (no sex - unless trying to conceive) yellow (risky -our first baby came along as a result of yellow day :) or green (have fun!) It's easy, natural, economical! I love it!

Holy crap that thing is expensive!

we use condoms. The pill either made me sick or didn`t work...and I hate the idea of pumping myself full of chemicals anyway. Plus, I`d be terrified of not being able to conceive after stopping medicinal contraceptives. Condoms just seem better to me. We can decide to try for our 3rd whenever we want, they`re pretty cheap, and they`re pretty safe.

right now i don't use any.. as i'm pregnant. i have used depro and got pregnant 2 months after stopping it while using condoms. :S and then after i had my daughter i used the pill and a year later got pregnant.. so i seem to be that small percent of people who gets pregnant easily i guess.. lol. i don't want to do anything that will affect being able to get pregnant as i'm thinking i want 3 kids (eventually) but i really need to find something that works .. i don't think i could handle 3 kids under 3.. :)

we use the fetility awareness method allows you to have control over your cycles and know what is going on and even when you get your period within a few days and when you are pregnat if you want to be, great system! If you have any questions we have been using it without fail for 5 yrs now, pretty effective method contrary to popular belief, much safer than the pull out method, used that for a awhile...too nerve wracking, lol bluenosescout@yahoo.com have a great day ladies!
