How To Play With A Baby?

"I have no imagination and I want to interact with my new baby (2 months) but I just don't know what to do with him. Any suggestions?"

My daughter is almost 2 months old and she loves it when you just talk to her. Babies that age love faces and the sound of your voice. They also are learning how to follow objects so if you had a brightly colored rattle or something that you could get her to follow with her eyes that would be something to do.

I know its not really playing but just holding your baby or laying next to him or her and reading is a good way for both baby and mom to bond and interact with one another.

I often sang to Zakk, read to him, even if he was just a baby, they thrive off all of that stuff. Standing in front of a mirror amazes a baby! Hehe. There are some interesting toys for babies now. I loved the lamaze brand toys.

when I had my first son, I got one of those American Baby books from the hospital, and it had a whole section on what to do to play with the baby, it was like getting an instruction manuel and you know you never get those. :)
one of the games was touching their toes or hands or nose or anything else and jsut saying the name of the part, the child is inthrolled with your voice so it doesn't even matter what you "say". Another game was putting a toy under a blanket and then popping it out. I think it was for about 4-5months though but you could try it.
