I spoke with a few ladies on here and noticed that some other kids hit themselves when they are getting mad/tantruming. I was just wondering if any of your kids bang their head against things??

Not a whole lot, but sometimes my 20 month old will slap herself in the head. She does it when she's angry/upset, or being silly. I don't think it's anything to worry about, unless they were doing it excessivly, or to punish themselves. I remember my oldest daughter going through a stage of hitting her head too. She outgrew it pretty quickly.
how did she do it though..when she was mad, frustated etc? yeah my daughter hits herself in the head or face too i was just more intrested in the reason other peoples children did it?
Cole used to do that when he was younger he'd bang it against a wall or on the floor when he got frustrated. He went a long time without doing anything like that and now whenever he takes a tantrum, he hits himself in the face.
He only would bang it a handful of times and it didn't make a difference whether I acknowledged him or not. He didn't bang overly hard though and definitely not hard enough to hurt himself.
Uh not necessarily! It's typical toddler behaviour and is not any concern until it gets obsessive or is combined with other symptoms. Autism is a huge spectrum...not every child who bangs their head needs to be checked out for Autism. Sheesh.
