- I use a blender, but a food processor might work. In the morning fill your blender with mixed frozen fruit about 3/4 of the way. I use Europe's Best Summer fruit Salad(about 10$/bag).
- Steam (boiling loses most of the nutrients) some veggies, I use carrots and corn because they are naturally sweet and disguise nicely. Once the veggies are very soft put them in the blender with the fruit, the steam will speed up the thawing of the fruit.
- Once everything is thawed, add about a cup of orange, apple, or any other real fruit juice.
- Turn your blender on the puree setting and let blend for about 5 minutes, alternating between high and low settings, or until smooth enough to go through your child's sippy cup. I use Avent cups and have no problem with clogs. If you still feel it's a bit thick add a little water or juice, but you'd be surprised what can get through those valves. I usually put about 6 oz in the cup per day, and my son loves it.
- Enjoy!
Fruit & Veggie Smoothie
Yes that's right there are veggies in this one. We all know how hard it is to get most toddlers to eat them voluntarily and sometimes it's easier just to hide and disguise them. I make this once a week or more and freeze most of it in single servings (I use baby food fruit containers for storage). Take one out the day before and put it in the fridge for thawing.
