Hi everyone... Im fairly new to the area and was wondering if anyone knows of any maple sugar 'farms' that allow visiters. If you do- could you post how to find them.
Here is the info that the city of fredericton has posted on their site
Great Bear Campground & Sugarbush, located in Bear Island, in Mactaquac Country runs a sugarbush during sapping season each spring. Learn about the history of maple sugaring in this area and how the sap is collected and processed. In addition to the modern processing equipment, examples of antique tools and machinery are on display in the Bear's Den in summer, campers can tour the maple groves, visit the Bear's Den Antiques and see maple processing equipment. Order maple products year round by calling 1-800-626-7111. Contact: www.greatbearcampground.com/sugarbush.html
Sugar Bush Weekend at Kings Landing Historical Settlement . Watch the Costumed staff boiling sap in iron cauldrons over an open fire, demonstrating the art of syrup and sugar making as it was performed 150 years ago. Children and kids-at-heart may sample a sweet treat of candy-on-the-snow made from the syrup right in front of their eyes. Pancake breakfast is served all day, and sleigh or wagon rides will be available and lots of maple products available for sale at the Kings Landing Museum Store. Contact: www.kingslanding.nb.ca/
