Remove stains from bottles & cups, How to

I put juice in a bottle, big mistake because it turned it yellow. The bottle is not that old so I would rather not throw it out, but it also seems to have a permanent smell of juice in in now. Does anyone have any safe ways they use to get the stains and smells out of bottles and sippy cups?

Have you put it through the dishwasher? Boiled it? Soaked it in some vinegar?

You wash them again after using the vinegar...

really hot water doesn't always cut it either trying boiling them in water that usually works...or the vinegar of course

Hi, me again. I tried the vinager and it didn't work... any other suggestions? What about using a little peroxide? I mean we use that on our teeth right so it might be ok.. opinions?

Hi Wanda, You might be out of luck and have to just throw away stained bottles if it bothers you. I have the same problem because I use Avent Sippy cups and the first stage of spouts is WHITE!!! When I first stained one I just decided to only put milk or water in the ones with the soft white spouts and use the hard green ones (next stage) for juice. If you don't want to throw out the stained one(s) why don't you just designate them for juice and your other unstained bottles for milk so you're not stuck with all your bottles being colored. How old is your baby? If (s)he is old enough for juice maybe you could try a sippy cup for juice and then you wont need to worry about it.
